My LONG History
Come on a climb through my family tree. There are several branches that include the surnames LONG, JONES, McGOWAN, LESLIE, JACK and MORRIS and you never know when you'll find a new leaf. If you find that we have common limb, please let me know. Don't forget to sign the guestbook at the bottom of the page and list your surnames. Hopefully, we will all find some long lost cousins.
This page is dedicated to my brother Dennis. He started the quest for our history and after his death, I decided to try to complete it as a memorial to him. I never knew I'd fall in love with the challenge of discovering who were are and where we came from. I hope I can make him proud with my efforts.

I'm desperately looking for this family. Any LONG researchers out there that can give me any leads? The story is that this LONG family came to Alabama from Georgia by way of Wedowee in Randolph County, Alabama. Alfred Long settled in Talladega Co., AL which later became part of Clay Co., AL. I believe Alfred had a brother named Allen as well. The 1850 and 1860 census show Alfred in Talladega Co. In 1850, he is living next to Robert Nelson (Margaret's father) and Allen Long ( which I assume is a brother because of age.) I would like to connect with anyone who may be a descendant of this family.
PLEASE NOTE: These pages are constantly under construction. Check back often to see if your ancestor is here. Also, as time permits, I will be adding documents such as census records, marriage records and other sources as well as photos of the families.
